Klypt cloud sync is on the way. Optional, opt-in, paid separately. Your V1 install will keep working exactly as it does today — cloud is an upgrade you choose, not a default you have to turn off.
One email when cloud sync ships. Nothing in between.
What it'll do
We didn't ship cloud in V1 on purpose. The on-device promise is load-bearing — once you trust Klypt with what's on your phone, the cloud upgrade is a separate decision with a separate price.
New phone? Factory reset? Your full vault restores on sign-in. The encryption follows the file.
Tablet, second phone, future iOS port — same vault, same folders, same search. Edit on one device, see it on the other.
Even with sync on, scans live encrypted in cloud storage we manage — not shared with brokers, not used to train anything. We can't read them either.
Planned pricing
Subject to change before V1.1 ships — we'll lock the final price closer to launch and tell early-access subscribers first. Anchored on:
Klypt Cloud — monthly
Cancel any time. Auto-includes ad removal — if you've already bought the $1.99 IAP, that stays valid if you ever cancel.
Klypt Cloud — annual
Lower effective monthly cost. Same 14-day trial. Same cancel-any-time terms.
Storage backed by Cloudflare R2 — we manage it. No Google Drive BYO. No third-party storage to set up.
What stays the same
Cloud sync is an add-on, not a replacement. Your current Klypt — free tier or the $1.99 ad-removal IAP — keeps working exactly as it does today, on-device, with the same encrypted storage and the same privacy promise.
Reasonable questions
After V1 has been on Google Play long enough to know it's stable. Realistically: 4–8 weeks post-V1, depending on what real users surface. We don't ship cloud on top of an unstable foundation.
No. Cloud sync is explicit opt-in. You'll see a "Turn on cloud sync" toggle in Settings; you decide. Nothing migrates without you tapping that toggle.
You get one email — the launch announcement — and that's it. No marketing drip, no "we haven't heard from you" nudges. Unsubscribe any time and we delete the row.
Yes. We'll publish the encryption architecture before V1.1 launches — same level of detail as the V1 on-device commitments on the privacy promise page.
Planned. Cloud sync makes the iOS port more useful — your scans show up on iPad and iPhone without you having to do anything. Timeline: after V1.1 Android stabilizes.
V1 is currently US/UK/CA/AU/NZ at launch. Cloud sync expanding to the EU depends on getting the Google AdMob consent SDK wired and our GDPR posture confirmed by counsel. Worst case: cloud-only EU support before banner-ad EU support.
Other ways to follow along
Klypt V1 lands first. Try it, decide whether the on-device version covers your household paper, and choose cloud only if you actually want the multi-device piece.
